Meath Gents Win Leinster Inter-County
Congratulations to our gents team on a great win at Lucan on Sunday 8th August.
In the doubles Ian Farrelly & Anto Kavanagh had a 44. Paddy McBride & Michael Conneely had 51. Wally sheridan & Sean Downes had 47 for a great start.
In the singles Ian Farrelly and Michael Conneelly both had 50s. Paddy McBride and Anto Kavanagh had 51s. Then to put the icing on the cake Wally Sheridan had a 44 and Sean Downes had a 45 to give a total team score of 433.
Hot favourites Dublin came in second and Louth came in third.
Wally Sheridan from the Bellewstown club has been selected for the Irish team to play in the European Championships to be played in Spain in September.
At the qualifying rounds of the National Juvenile S/P held in Laytown
Peter Reilly from the Bellewstown club and Matthew McParland from the Ratoath club have qualified for the all Ireland final to be played in Kilbeggan in August.
Well done to our Meath gents in the National Strokeplay finals
at the Ryston club. All did extremely well.
